Following the success of last year’s Mini Comics day in Newcastle the Geordie lads have organised an even bigger session for 2012. The idea of the Mini Comics making event is to have a go at creating a comic from scratch and to end with a complete comic you’ve created. Mini Comics are a great and quick [...] The Canny Comic Con in Newcastle was a smashing success. – It lived up to its name and was as ‘canny’ as it could have been. My highlights of the day were the two walk-in-workshops I gave. There was no lack of active kids crowding the table with much enthusiasm and oozing creativity …and their parents, of [...] Swan lives in the Kröller-Müller Museum sculpture garden in the Netherlands. Everyone looks at Swan. They think she is so beautiful! But in the evening, when all the visitors have gone, Swan feels all alone. So she goes off with Cloud Shepherd looking for a playmate, someone to play and swim and fly with. Would [...] Monster Madness with Ingi. A fun drop-in workshop for kids of all ages, at the Canny Comic Con in Newcastle, running at 10.30-11.30 and 2.00-3.00 outside the Bewick Hall Dr.Ewill is in need of a laboratory assistant and being the crazy scientist he is, he decides to make his own – but he needs your help [...] Ingi has put together a collection of his comics to sell at the Canny Comic Con in Newcastle on the 10th of December in Newcastle City Library. It’s a 16 page newspaper-print that was printed by the good people at the Newspaper Club - (We recommend their services!!) It will be held at Newcastle City Library all day on Saturday 10th December 2011. Comics, comic strips, comic books, graphic novels, manga, sequential art – however you want to refer to it, the CCC wants to celebrate everything about telling stories [...] Mr Miraculous is going to work with the kids at the California Youth Centre this coming weekend. A local branch of the Round Table asked us to come to one of their meetings to introduce TeesToons and give them a crash-course in cartooning. Needless to say the boys did well and though we’re more accustomed to working with younger lads, the age difference wasn’t showing in their enthusiasm, concentration and finished drawings. Good work all! Ingi will be taking part in the Mini Comics Day at the The Star And Shadow Cinema in Newcastle this coming Saturday – 9th of April.
